COVID-19 Gathering Phase 2 Plan

Elder’s Protocol for COVID-19 Gathering Phase 2 Plan for Lewisville Bible Church

Dear Church,

As we continue to receive updates from our Local, State, and Federal Government officials, here is our current response plan as a church body for the month of June.

Remember our stance as we move to be fully accessible for serving our Lord…

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Romans 13:1 (NKJV)

God, who rules over all, calls us to obey earthly rulers without violating His Word. Therefore, the following plans will be used to guide the ministry of LBC based on the guidance of the governing authorities (GA-18) and may be updated as conditions change, or further guidance becomes available.

June:

  • We will open all aspects of Lewisville Bible Church
  • There will not be coffee and snacks between Sunday School and Worship service
  • Adult Sunday School Classes have already been meeting
  • Children Sunday School classes will begin
  • Children’s Church will be held during the worship service
  • The nursey will be open
  • Sunday night prayer and youth fellowships will meet

 Logistics:

  • Recommendation is to stay at 50% capacity which should not be a problem,
  • Our challenge is the distancing.
  • With that in mind, the following will be our guidelines

Nursey:

  • Nursey will be for infants to 3yrs old only.
  • No one will be allowed in the nursey except the nursey workers
  • You can drop your infant or toddler off at the door
  • All workers and infants-toddlers will have a temperature check before allowing in

Children’s Sunday School:

  • Drop-off…
    • Temperatures will be taken as they enter the building
    • You will follow the signs to the classroom drop off
    • Parents will exit the south door and go around to their class
  • End of Class…
    • Children the age of Children’s Church will stay in the classroom
    • There will be juice boxes and pre-packaged snacks as they wait for Children’s Church to start
    • Older children will be picked up at the classroom door and exit the south building door to Sanctuary

Children’s Church:

  • Temperatures will be taken as they enter the building
  • You will follow the signs to the classroom drop off
  • They will join the children who are already there from Sunday School
  • After the worship service parents will pick up children at the door and exit the south building door

Youth Fellowships:

  • Temperatures will be taken as they enter the building
  • There is plenty of room for JV and High School to keep their distance

Throughout the building:

  • Greeters will set doors open and stand well back to wave and welcome.
  • Gloved and masked ushers will hand out bulletins. Additionally, we will continue to post our digital bulletin for those worshipping remotely.
  • Signage will be placed throughout the building to encourage people to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses.
  • Hand sanitizer will be available throughout our facilities.
  • Masks will be available, as supply allows, for people who do not wear their own mask yet desire one.
  • Handshaking, hugging, and other physical contact should be avoided. Other methods of friendly interaction from physical distance – such as waving, smiling, or yelling “I love you!” – are encouraged.

On the Texas Executive Order GA-18, you will see a suggestion that churches provide a particular “area inside the facility reserved for the high-risk population.” LBC cannot do so during Phase 2 due to space restrictions. All high-risk individuals should decide if they should come or worship from home.
