When I read Psalm 58.1 in The Message, I was impressed at how this verse relates to current events in Washington.

“Is this any way to run a country? is there an honest politician in the house? Behind the scenes you brew cauldrons of evil, behind closed doors you make deals with demons.”

For me Elvie, anytime a major event in life or when something in the Word struck me, I would write a song about it. My children always like to hear a song I have written so even if they have not been in God’s Word they will hear the truth of God through song.

Good reminder for us to “set up stones of reminders” of God’s faithfulness and work in our own lives so we, too, can answer similar questions from our children/grand-children, and other people in our world of influence. I would be interested in people’s ideas on just what those “stones” might be???

For those who say that Jesus never claimed to be God, all we need to do is look at what the people of His day thought. In Matthew 27:39-40 it tells us that those passing by, the common people of the day said “…If You are the Son of God, come down from that cross.” The common people knew that Jesus claimed to be God. In verse 43 the chief priest said “…for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’” The religious leaders of the day knew that Jesus claimed to be God. That’s why they wanted Him put to death. Jesus either was God or He misled the people. Since we will see Him rise from the dead in Matthew 28, I would say Jesus is correct, He is the Son of God.

How true is that? Couldn’t agree more.

The "ROAD" to life is found in God's word. In John 6:63 it says, "It is the Spirit Who gives life... the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are Life." In 2011 we as a church body are reading through the bible using the "Bible in One Year" found in our Daily Bread and encourage all to join with us. We believe in the "ROAD."

Read God's word.

Obey God's word.

Apply God's word.

Dwell upon God's word.

Through out the year our elders and leaders will be posting their journey down the "ROAD" and we would like you to share and comment on your own. Let's travel the "ROAD" together.

Ezekiel 35-36:In chapter 35 the prophet pronounces God’s judgment on Edom (Mount Seir) for their pride, greed and anger as they had assisted the Babylonians in the seige of Jerusalem. The next chapter looks ahead with encouraging messages of what God will do in the future. He will restore the land and regenerate His people. They had been guilty of polluting the land and profaning God’s name. Both sins had to be dealt with.
2 Peter 1:The second letter is a remonder of the truth of Christianity as opposed to the heresies of false teachers. The development of faith is expressed in the first chapter in terms of its growth in terms of divine power and its ground in terms of divine inspiration of the Word of God.
